When a student poured out their story of frustration after feeling unheard by counselors, Arthur Lockhart founder of The Gatehouse, knew something had to change. That rainy day, sitting in a car with coffee and a heart heavy with untold stories, the vision for The Gatehouse was born.
Arthur saw an abandoned house and imagined a place where survivors could speak their truth without being told how to tell it. What started as a dream with just $1,000 led to a transformative community space that has since supported over 20,000 survivors.
In this video, Arthur shares the powerful moment that ignited his mission and the incredible community that came together to make it a reality.
