Telling Your Story
Contemplating Sharing Your Story In The Written Word?
That’s what we call: braving healing.
The whole journey of navigating life after enduring childhood sexual abuse is all about braving healing. Giving ourselves permission to consider writing our story is brave, regardless of whether we write or publish.
For most of us, telling our story is beyond challenging. Which part do we share? How do we do so in a way that honors ourselves and is clear to those receiving it? How do we talk about it? And what if I get completely overwhelmed and walk away?
Many we have talked to tell of the shaking and trembling as they hit “Post” on a social media piece sharing part of their story. Others talk about how they would agonize over a singular line that wasn’t even that revealing. Still others talk about wanting to share but choosing not to.
ALL of this is braving healing.
We met Lisa Browning at a trauma conference put on by The Gatehouse. Her focus is on empowering through storytelling and connection. She helps people tell their story of navigating life after enduring trauma.
So we asked her: Would you be open to collaborating on a mini-course?
And guess what? She said yes!
The course will be available in 2026 at no cost.
Even if you’re a well-seasoned writer, this isn’t about making sure your grammar is right. This is about ensuring you are taken care of and equipping you with tools to tell your story in an empowering way.
